HYDROSYM - schematic symbol library for AutoCAD, now available on CD

HYDROSYM is a hydronic component symbol library for AutoCAD, and AutoCAD-compatible drawing software. It contains 99 full color, fully proportioned symbols based on the piping schematics used in the text Modern hydronic Heating 2nd Edition by John Siegenthaler, P.E. It also contains several starter drawings of classic hydronic distribution systems built with these symbols. All symbols drawings are supplied as .DWG vector image files, compatible with AutoCAD release 2000, and 2004. All symbols and drawings are also provided as PDF files for reference.

You can order the software as a download for $150 or have it shipped to you on CD for $165.

HYDROSYM schematic symbol library for AutoCAD (downloadable)

HYDROSYM Hydronic Piping Symbols for AutoCAD, and AutoCAD-compatible software now available for downloading.

Appropriate Designs is pleased to announce the availability of the HYDROSYM symbol library for AutoCAD, and AutoCAD-compatible drawing software. This symbol library contains 99 full color, fully proportioned symbols based on the piping schematics used in the text Modern hydronic heating 2nd Edition by John Siegenthaler, P.E. This library allows you to develop detailed, full-color piping schematics for modern hydronic systems.

All Symbols and starter drawings are provided as .DWG files that are compatible with AutoCAD release 2000, and 2004. All symbols ands starter drawings are also provided as PDF files for reference. All symbols are fully editable allowing you to build additional objects if desired.

All symbols in the library are grouped into palette as follows:

Hydronic Heat sources
Hydronic heat Emitters
Valves
Miscellaneous Symbols
User Defined symbols

The HYDROSYM library also provides eight basic piping schematics:

Simple series circuit
Diverter tee system
Zoning with zone circulator
Zoning with zone valves
Parallel direct return system
Parallel reverse return system
Homerun distribution system
Primary / secondary system

These drawings show the eight fundamental piping systems used in residential and light commercial hydronic systems. They can serve as starter drawings for specific projects.

The cost of the downloadable version of HYDROSYM is $150. If Supplied on CD the cost is $165. Through the end of January 2006 the downloadable version only is being offered at an introductory price of $125. You can order the downloadable product through our e-store at this site.

HydroniCAD - Software for drawing hydronic piping schematics

HydroniCAD was created for those who need professional quality drawings for new system installation or to document existing systems. It allows users with no previous computer drawing experience to quickly snap together components and piping lines to build a complete piping schematic.

Think of HydroniCAD as a "hydronics Lego® set." The user simply selects one of the pre-drawn piping components symbols and then clicks on the drawing canvas. The symbol appears and can then be moved, rotated, duplicated as needed. Various symbols can be added to the drawing and quickly snapped together using a unique feature called "sticky points."

In the time it would take you to snap together a few Lego® blocks you can snap together a professional looking full-color piping schematic. Click print to put the drawing on 8.5" x 11" paper along with a customized title block containing your company's information.

All piping components symbols are organized into five symbol palettes that "float" on the drawing screen. The symbols are based on the piping schematics used in the text Modern Hydronic Heating as well as trade journal articles by John Siegenthaler.

HydroniCAD can also be used for general computer aided drawing. It has a full set of drawing tools such as lines, rectangles, circles, and polygons. It also provides a wide range of color and pattern control for shapes and lines.

HydroniCAD is also a "stand-alone" software package. It doesn't require Visio, AutoCAD, or any other software package to function.

You'll be comfortable with HydroniCAD within five minutes of starting to use it. The user interface is simple and intuitive: Get the symbols you want then snap them together to make the schematic.

The best news is that HydroniCAD costs a fraction of what other CAD software costs. Most CAD software contains features that only a few people will ever use, especially those who make one type of drawing (such as a schematic). Why pay for complex software with a steep learning curve when what you need is a tool specifically designed for creating hydronic piping schematics as quickly and easily as possible? We built HydroniCAD to give you what you need and not charge you for what you don't.

Appropriate Designs has been involved in hydronic heating for over 25 years. We focus our efforts on developing state-of-the-art design software just for the hydronic heating market. We will continue to support HydroniCAD and expand it in the future.

A demo version of HydroniCAD is available at the downloads area of this website. Try it out and you'll be convinced it's the drawing tool that you and many other hydronic heating professionals have been waiting for.

LoopCAD

One of the tasks that serious hydronic heating designers routinely face is accurately documenting the tubing layouts for their radiant heating systems. When properly created, such drawings save hours of time at the site and guard against errors such as excessively long circuits, placement of tubing under cabinets and refrigerators, or needless crossing of control joints. Such drawings also provide a permanent record of tubing placement that is invaluable when the building is remodeling or the system is somehow modified. Tubing layout drawings also show a truly professional approach to hydronic radiant heating.
