SOLAR THERMAL SYSTEMS
Successful Planning and Construction
(Book with CD-ROM)
By Dr. Felix Peuser, et al.
Copyright 2002 (384 pages hardcover, full color with CD-ROM)

We have decide to add this book to our line up as an excellent reference on solar thermal systems, specifically systems using flat plate and evacuated tube collectors for domestic water heating and space heating.

This book is well illustrated and in full color. It is not an analytical as other, engineering level solar references, and well suited as a reference for installers with good doses of practical experience mixing in.

It discusses several interesting system details used in the European market along with a synopsis of how those details have "panned out" over the years. It gives examples of what has worked and what has failed. This information is particular valuable as North Americans head of the learning curve on solar thermal system design and installation. Why repeat the same mistakes when we can learn what they are and how to avoid them?

The CD-ROM included with the book has an extensive (151 slide) PowerPoint presentation suitable for use in training installers on low temperature solar thermal systems.

I highly recommend this book to installers interested in the practical side of solar thermal systems rather than those wanting to delve into the analytical design details.

Finally, the paper and printing quality in this book is exceptional. You will sense this the moment you pick up the book (it is heavy).
